Top 5 Apps To Book Flights

Feb 25, 2021

Long gone are the days you need to depend on somebody for something. We have access to everything at our fingertips via marvelous apps! Travel agents were your go to for planning trips but if you are a DIY person, then I’ll share my top 5 apps that even I, a travel agent, use even booking flights. I’ll also show you my process!

**Hopper

I want to mention that on Hopper, you don’t book flights. But it does help me with finding the best time to buy a flight if I have to caught on to an airline’s pricing schedule yet. Just search flights and track prices until you see a good deal.

Kayak

Kayak is considered old but it keeps itself up to date with up and coming new apps. I use it because it’s not complicated an it has that beautiful calendar that shows you if it’s cheaper or expensive to fly on certain days. It’s sort feature is like no other too! I made an account with them a while back and even now when I book flights, rent cars, plan excursions, it notified me via a banner? Email? And calendar that something is coming up.  I honestly know where to go get my luggage before the pilot tells us to when landing because kayak told me so!

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is one of my faves when I want to see if I can tackle my bucket list.  It has an explore feature where you just put in dates and see where you can go and the cheapest price. Like kayak, has my favorite feature, the calendar. So I can look and see if I need to book my flights fir a particular if I have flexibility. It allows you to save specific flights and alerts me via banner if it went up on price or down and by how much.

Kiwi

I was told about Kiwi by some guys at the same brunch one Sunday. They were describing to me snout their time In Paris and then Rome and other places in Europe all easily designed by one app. I downloaded it immediately and got lost in the many options. It looks at all of the cheapest flights across all airlines. It also research bus and train routes. If you’re adventurous traveler then you will love the NOMAD feature they have added. You can enter in all destinations and the number of nights at each and it will find the cheapest route for you!

 Skiplagged

This app has been getting negative and positive press but if you are willing to take chances and  #teamcarryon then it may fit you.  Ever seen where a person will book a flight with a layover and stay at the layover and not make it to their “flight destination” as the airline planned? This app helps you succeed in it.  Flights with layovers are normally cheaper with nonstop flights.  Many people book layovers with no intention of going to the final destination.  Like the other apps, you can set prices/destination alerts. Some complaints have been of airlines banning specific passengers and also people not getting their checked luggage.

The cheapest flights worldwide app (G-Flights)

This app claims to have 777 airlines send them last minute booking deals. Embryo is trying to fill seats so they send it to them.  Another thing this app does is offer no booking fees to use them and 25% off if you use their sister app.  This search engines is smart and made for the consumer because it confuses the engine of your current location to help you find the best flight.  If a search engine sees you are in the USA it normally changes you more.  If it sees you come back within days looking forward same flight it will not budge on price unless it’s higher.  This app changes your location often to confuse the engines.

So you have all of the apps I toggle between but realistically will I use them all while booking a flight?  No! Depending on the air line, location, time of booking and other variants, the prices will be all over the place. Until I know an airline’s pricing schedule, these apps will track for me.
